Registry Tips
Simple ways to make your registry helpful, thoughtful, and easy for others to use.
Helpful Tips for Creating Your Registry
Start Small
You don’t need a huge list.
Most registries begin with 10–20 items and grow over time.
Add a Mix of Items
Include items at different price points so everyone can help.
Examples:
- Comfort items
- Everyday essentials
- Treatment specific support
Think About Treatment Days
Many patients spend long hours at appointments.
Helpful items can include:
- Cozy socks
- Water bottles
- Tote bags
- Blankets
- Noise canceling headphones
- Books and journals
Include Comfort Items
Small comforts can make a big difference during treatment.
Examples:
- Soft clothing (for sensitive skin)
- Special skincare products (dry skin / radiation burns)
- Relaxation items (books, essential oils, tea)
Use Starter Collections
If you're unsure what to add, browse Salto’s Starter Collections
They’re designed to help caregivers quickly find items others have found helpful during specific types of treatment.
Share Your Registry
Once your registry is ready, share it with friends and family.
People, overwhelmingly, want to help but often don’t know what’s needed.
A registry gives them a clear way to show support.
Update It When Needed
You can always add or remove items as needs change. This is normal and expected.
Many survivors and caregivers update the registry, weekly, throughout treatment.
Remember: Support Comes in Many Forms
Some people will send support gifts.
Some will send messages or encouragement.
Some will spend time.
All are needed and appreciated.
Every form of support matters.
